Youth and Adult Nominations Wanted by Orange County Youth Advisory Board
Orange County Youth Bureau’s Youth Advisory Board/Collaboration for Change nominees may be recognized at County Executive Awards Program.
The Orange County Youth Bureau’s Youth Advisory Board/Collaboration for Change seeks nominations of youth and adults who will be publicly recognized through this year’s 43rd Annual County Executive’s Awards Program.
Nominations are only for youth and adults who: live and/or attend school and/or work and/or volunteer in Orange County, NY.
A new award category this year, The Susan Murray-Tetz Legacy Award, was established in honor of Susan’s many years of dedicated service as a volunteer member of the Orange County Youth Bureau’s Advisory Board. The intent of this award is to recognize an adult board/advisory board/recreation commission member who, in the opinion of fellow board members and organization staff, truly fills the role of an effective, dedicated board member to the mission of serving the youth and families of Orange County.
Also, two award categories, Positive Change and Spirit of Success, have been designed to recognize youth whose performance and success might otherwise be overlooked. These awards are not meant for the traditional students who have always excelled but youth that have overcome significant obstacles in their young lives. Nominations will be accepted for grade levels 2-8 and 9-12.
Although this event doesn’t occur until June, the nominations must be mailed, emailed, or faxed to the Youth Bureau at youthbur@orangecountygov.com by Tuesday, February 11th.
You will receive an email confirmation that your submission was received. If you do NOT receive one, please call Linda at 845-615-3620 to make sure your application(s) made it to us.
Youth Bureau staff will work closely with nominators to handle registration for assigned seating for the event to be held on Friday, June 6, 2025 at the SUNY Orange Middletown Campus.
You can copy and distribute the attached award applications and instructions to your staff/colleagues.
The attachment includes all categories. By COB on January 7th, you will also be able to find each category separated out on this website: https://www.orangecountygov.com/1833/County-Executive-Youth-Adult-Awards.
