Rise and shine and join the Warwick LGBTQ+ Pride Event on Sunday, June 9th, 11 a.m. - 5 p.m. For the past decade Warwick has celebrated the LGBTQ+ community with a celebration at the Warwick Valley Community Center, and a downtown parade followed by the Pride Show - an afternoon of entertainment. The show represents our local talent and can be enjoyed by all ages.
The celebration starts at 11a.m. at the Warwick Valley Community Center, 11 Hamilton Avenue, Warwick, NY. There will be free brunch, music, art, activities, support tables, face painting, and vendors. There will be special book signings by Kayla Miller, author and illustrator of the New York Times bestselling Click graphic novel series, and Chloe O. Davis, author of The Queens’ English, The Dictionary for LGBTQIA+ Lingo and Colloquial Phrases.
At 1:30 p.m. the Pride Parade steps off from the Community Center, led by crowd favorite Funkrust Brass Band. The route is Orchard Street, left onto Oakland Avenue and up Main Street, right onto High Street and Forester Ave. to end at the covered pavilion at Memorial Park at approximately 2:30 p.m. The route is 1.5 miles.
There will be food and retail vendors at the park, and the Pride Show music performances start at 3p.m. There is ample parking at Memorial Park if you wish to leave a vehicle here for the end of the day. Parking is limited at the Community Center.
The organizers invite you to bring the family, show your support for the LGBTQ+ community, and have a great day out in Warwick.
