Kathy Santen was a professional actor for over 40 years, appearing in theatres around the country, including 17 years on Broadway. She’s always been a scavenger, drawn to the used, the discarded, the once-loved. When Kathy retired from the theatre, she began to explore mixed media assemblage using found objects. Her work has been seen at Upfront Exhibition Space, Delaware Valley Arts Alliance, ARTery Gallery, WomensWork Art and Wurstbuto Wares. She’s also been featured in the publications Assembla Magazine, Artskill Catskill and The Catskiller. Kathy lives in the Pocono Mountains of PA with her husband, playwright Sean.
Rachel Gordon was a Manhattan Assistant DA, a television news producer, and Regional Director of NY State Parks. These positions and others have allowed for creativity, but painting is different.
“For me, it's less cerebral, less conversational, less deliberate,” she said. “Living in Sullivan County full-time has affected my vision of the world. Trees, rocks, water, animals, the open sky, are all reflected in my paintings.”
Bob Barnett is a painter who lives and works in New York City and Sussex County in Northwest New Jersey. From an early age, the textures that make up our environment have always held a fascination for him. His works explore those textures through the layering of encaustic wax, sumi Ink, oil pigments and natural fibers. For the last 30+ years he has worked as a member of United Scenic Artist Local 829 as a Scenic Artist and Set Designer. His work has brought him in contact with a wide variety of artists and craftspeople from all over the world. Favorite film projects include “The Ice Storm,” “tick, tick... BOOM!” and “West Side Story.”
