Short Film Makes Case for Land Trust Purchase of Sugar Loaf Mountain
The short film, featuring mountain scenes and local officials, premiered at an Orange County Land Trust gala.

Orange County Land Trust held its 2023 Benefit Reception and Auction on June 15th, where they celebrated their 30th anniversary as an organization and showcased their Sugar Loaf Mountain project. The evening’s honorees included Walden Savings Bank and the Lenape Center. The new short film, “Sugar Loaf Mountain - A Community Initiative,” was screened for the sold-out crowd of over 300 guests. The video. linked below, was filmed and produced by Marc Mason and Robert Campbell, two film industry veterans who donated their services in support of the land protection project.
The film includes commentary from OCLT staff and several stakeholders, including County Executive Steve Neuhaus, Walden Savings Bank President and CEO Derrik Wynkoop, and others. OCLT is in the final stages of the project’s due diligence and aims to complete the acquisition within the year.
