A major fundraiser for the Port Jervis Rotary is our Flags for Heroes Project. All proceeds will go to local high school scholarships and other community projects.
A flag can be sponsored for your personal hero. As the order form says,
"You can be part of our community's tribute to the heroes in our lives, past and present.
The hero could be a veteran, a member of the military, police, fire department or other first responder. They could be a teacher, coach, mentor, community leader, parent, child or anyone who has been a hero in your life."
The flag will be displayed in the field at the corner of Jersey Ave. and Fowler Street from Nov. 1-30.
A dedication ceremony will be held on Nov. 13, 2021 at 11:00 AM.
Each sponsor will receive a medallion with the sponsor's name and their heroes name and title. The medallion will be hung from the flag that they sponsored.
Currently there are 13 flags in the field to honor our fallen heroes in Afghanistan. Their pictures and names are next to the flags.
