Road Work Ahead for Deerpark
Repaving is planned or being discussed for parts of several Deerpark roads.

Driving around parts of Deerpark will be a little smoother soon as a result of the recent signing of an Agreement for the Expenditure of Highway Moneys. At a January 2 meeting, the Deerpark Town Board approved six road projects that will pave about five miles of roadway at a cost of approximately $600,000.
The work consists of a 2.27-mile section of Peenpack Trail leading to Rt. 209, a .87-mile portion of West Peenpack Trail commencing at Rt. 42, a .22-mile section at West Peenpack Trial/Forestburg Rd., and a .49 mile stretch of Box Baum Rd. starting at Peenpack Trail.
In another area of Deerpark, a .66-mile section of Old Greenville Turnpike will be paved, along with a .49-mile portion of Hidden Valley Rd.
Deerpark officials are also in discussion with Dragon Springs Buddhist, Inc. representatives about possible paving of a section of Guymard Turnpike. The Dragon Springs campus creates significant traffic on roads leading to it. Last fall, the town received $70,000 from Dragon Springs to pave a portion of Galley Hill Rd. Town officials estimate the work on Guymard Turnpike would cost about $120,000. No plans have been finalized at this time.
