Port Jervis Shooting Results in Warwick Arrests
The shooting after a robbery happened on Barcelow St. in Warwick.
Port Jervis. District Attorney David M. Hoovler and Port Jervis Police Chief William Worden announce the arrests of John J. Selja, age 22, and Andrew Delrio, age 26, after an investigation into a report of a male shot on May 6th, 2025, at approximately 9:28 p.m. on Barcelow Street in the City of Port Jervis.
Port Jervis City Police conducted the investigation in collaboration with the Orange County District Attorney’s Office, the Town of Deerpark Police Department, the Orange County Drug Task Force, the Town of Warwick Police Department and the Orange County Sheriff’s Office.
City Police allege that the defendants confronted and stole property from the male victim. The defendants then discharged multiple rounds from a firearm, striking the victim. The victim was initially treated at Bon Secours Community Hospital and then transferred to Westchester Medical Center. No other persons were injured.
The investigation culminated with the arrests of the afore stated defendant and the execution of a search warrant at a Penaluna Road residence in the Town of Warwick. John J. Selja and Andrew Delrio were each charged with one (1) count of Attempted Murder in the 2nd Degree, a class B felony, and one (1) count of Robbery in the 1st Degree, a class B felony. The defendants were both arraigned before the Port Jervis City Court and remanded to the Orange County Jail on $500,000 cash bail or $1.5 million bond.
