1. What circumstance(s) prompted you to run for the school board? Please be specific.
I retired from the Port Jervis School District in July 2019. I wanted to volunteer and do something worthwhile to give back to my community, and serving on the BOE seemed one of the most worthwhile ways to do this.
2. What experience, skills and/or education prepares you for a role on the school board? Please be specific.
I bring to the role of School Board member…. My professional experience in leadership and critical thinking skills as well as experience as a local community member, taxpayer, past employee of the District and parent of graduates of the District.
3. What would you like to change if elected? Please be specific.
There are some incredible things happening within the District at this time and the “change” would be to see all of the current projects to fruition.
4. What would you like to accomplish as a School Board Member? Please be specific.
Overall I would like to continue to be a part of a cohesive BOE whose intention and purpose is to align itself in support of the District goals in maintaining fiscal responsibility, improving student programs, educating the whole child, continuing progress on our Capital Project while maintaining fiscal stability and responsibility, as well as becoming a vital asset to our local community.
