NAACP Middletown Branch Inaugural Youth Cookout Celebration
The cookout will be in Circleville Park at 1-5 p.m. on July 28.
Middletown, NY – July 4, 2024 – The Middletown Chapter of the NAACP is inviting the community a free event to learn more about the revitalized chapter and its plans to increase youth engagement in alignment with the branch’s mission as we prepare for the upcoming year.
From 1p.m.-5p.m. on July 28, 2024 in Circleville Park they are extending an open invitation to meet local NAACP members. This will be an informal opportunity to hear live music and entertainment, engage in family friendly fun, and celebrate summer with a barbecue and pot luck style dishes. This is a free community event. RSVP is encouraged.
Additionally, there will be a chance to become a member of the local chapter, register to vote, and learn more about the needs and hopes of the community, especially youth, in the local area.

The NAACP (National Association for the Advancement of Colored People) is a large, preeminent civil rights organization. Founded in 1909 in response to the ongoing violence against Black people around the country, the NAACP has more than 2,200 units and branches across the nation, and well over 2 million activists. The NAACP Middletown Branch is Unit #2156-B, and represents people who live and/or work in western Orange County, New York, including Middletown, Montgomery, Port Jervis, Warwick, and other nearby towns and villages. The NAACP Middletown Branch was reactivated in January of 2024 with a mission to achieve equity, political rights, and social inclusion by advancing policies and practices that expand human and civil rights, eliminate discrimination, and accelerate the well-being and economic security of Black people and all persons of color.
