Letter: Dragon Springs "Temporary Cement Factory" Plan Troubles Deerpark and Mount Hope Residents
Mount Hope Planning Board meeting is at 7 p.m. on July 17 at Mount Hope Town Hall, with the cement factory seventh on the agenda.
Dragon Springs proposes to have a temporary cement factory For future and/ongoing construction at Guymard Turnpike lot 19-1-1. Who knows what entrance—a new one in Mt. Hope?...Deerpark thus far has the only two entrances for DS, as . 31+ acres of DS are in Mt. Hope, and the other 450+ are in Deerpark.
No inspection reports from Deerpark in three years at DS, though DS keeps building. For 20+ years concrete trucks travelled up and down Galley Hill Rd. and Guymard Tpk. from Dick's Concrete.
Issues: sounds , air, water, energy, traffic. At the highly intensive work site, energy input in concrete is a big contributor to greenhouse gases world wide. Come and take notes. Assume it would be along the Metro North tracks near their warehouses in Mt. Hope.
Is this to be the site where the concrete for New Century in Huguenot is to derive its concrete for the four-story garage at the lip of the floodplain? Also, what does DS have permits to start building. The 2019 draft EIS said they had to return with more complete plans. IIn my opinion, much of the aspirations in 2019 at DS moved down to New Century film, which has dropped the Film in any promotion.
This is not a public hearing, but there is a participation section near the meeting's end. Correspondence will also be read.
Who builds a "temporary" cement factory? Invite people to come to the meeting.

How much more cement do they need? Are we going to let them become totally self sufficient there for themselves? They closed off the natural spring on guymard to all of us when they bought that property.
