Editor's Letter: Lookout Board Meeting Brings Mea Culpa and More
Dear Reader,
When the Lookout editorial board met last week, I was rightfully scolded for asserting that the local No Kings demonstrations were populated only by liberals. Gail Buckland wrote a letter for this issue documenting her findings contrary to my assertion. And during my coverage of the Milford demonstration, I now realize that I also encountered demonstrators who were not liberals. Nor is the Lookout just a liberal publication.
At our board meeting we also discussed Abbey Ashley’s suggestion that we allow poetry and short story submissions to the Lookout. We decided that submissions about local goings on would be considered within 200-word limits for poetry and 700-word limits for stories.
I was also reminded to alert readers to frequent updates they can read on the Tri-State Lookout website (tristatelookout.com), as new stories are posted between issues emailed to subscribers.
So keep an eye on us and let us know your community-related thoughts and observations.
Thanks,
Jessica Cohen
