Become a Master Gardener with Penn State Tutelage
Applications are available for classes beginning in October 2023 and concluding in March 2024.
Applications are now being accepted for the Penn State Extension Master Gardeners basic training classes in Pike County. Classes begin in October 2023, conclude in March 2024 and will include abundant topics. Among them are botany, plant propagation, soil health and fertilizer management, composting, controlling pests safely, entomology, plant diseases, indoor plants, vegetables, lawn care, pruning, woody ornamentals, herbaceous plants, native plants, weeds and invasives.
The training fee is $200 and includes the award-winning Penn State Extension Master Gardener Manual, training supplies, and webinars. Financial aid may be available. Applications will be accepted through June 15, 2023. When received, an interview will be scheduled. The interview helps candidates determine if the Master Gardener program is a good fit for them.
