Warwickians to Reveal Work Lives
We the People Warwick will hold their "A Day in the Life" event a second time on March 18 after surprising enthusiasm for the first event.
Often people don’t know much about the day-to-day work of their neighbors. We the People Warwick’s “A Day in the Life” gatherings offer opportunities to connect through stories people tell about what they do. A Q&A follows each speaker.
“Each speaker has ten minutes to explain how they came to their profession, what they do and the challenges of it. Then the audience asks questions,” explained Mary Makofske, member of We the People Warwick. “We thought we’d try it once and see how it was received. People were curious and stood around to talk afterward.”
Several dozen people attended. They talked and talked, and as the library closed, the library staff finally reminded them to leave.
“People later volunteered to be presenters. Now we have a list,” said Makofske. “So we’ll keep going.”
